Story[]

Chapter IV: Consequences[]

Yukka is a villager of a Dynasty village. When the mysterious monster blew up the Shadow rig and destroyed the village, Yukka lost her family. Shade, her cat, barely survived the explosion and the cat made it and became stronger due to shadow energy influence. When all hopes seem lost, a man appears before them, uniting all the survivors and giving them hopes. He forms a rebel group named Insusceptibles, with Yukka as a member. The leader then orders Yukka to watch over the rift, while he is off to negotiate with Legion. If the leader does not come back in time, Yukka must go to his rescue.

When Yukka spots the party, she questions them what they are doing in her village. June tells her that this village is a village of Dynasty just like the others. Yukka replies by saying half of them have been burned down by Legion. She and her friends were the only ones to fight off all the attacks. The party gained Yukka's trust after the player stopped a Legionary attack and she introduces herself, Shade, and Insusceptibles.

When asked by June about Ling, Yukka cannot help as she never met any blacksmith. Thinking the party could be useful for Insusceptibles' plans, Yukka reveals their plan to them. The leader knows how to make weapon from the rift and can control the rift. Insusceptibles' plans to destroy the Legion and Dynasty with the rift power will either stop the war, or cause the same pain to them. Hearing this, the party refuses to join their side and fights them.

Yukka then tries to stop the party from confronting the leader, however, she is defeated by the player. After Yukka is defeated, she is asked by June the location of negotiation. Yukka is not aware of the exact location. All she knows is that the leader was last seen with a merchant from capital.

Transformation: June's Plane[]

The general welcomes both prince/princess and Captain Phang and takes them into the camp. Inside the camp, a Resistance member named Yukka asks Xiang Tzu his progress with Heralds. He tells her that the priest did not show up at all, but thankfully they have new benefactors here. Yukka comments that the Herald travelers they captured have shadow energy, which she refers to as superb weapons and she has given it to her Insusceptibles group. Marcus states that he does not need these things, which he refers to as demonic weapons. After Xiang Tzu shows Marcus the shadow energy capability by having an Insusceptible warrior fight the prince/princess, Marcus is impressed by both the prince's/princess's fighting prowess and the shadow energy. Yukka then suggests that they return an old Herald captive - whom they assume to be the leader of Heralds - back to Heralds and unite with them to end the Alliance. Marcus disagrees with her, as he does not fully trust Heralds, although he indeed sees no point in keeping this old captive anymore. Xiang Tzu agrees with Marcus' last point, suggesting the old captive to be done away for good, while wondering what they should do about the prince/princess and Phang. Marcus reminds him they will not decide anything without the Guardian's opinion, who is currently questioning the old captive. Everyone pays the Guardian a visit, who turns out to be Deng Rao. Both Phang and Deng Rao are surprised to see each other - Phang cannot believe that Deng Rao is one of the leaders, while Deng Rao tells everyone the two benefactors' real identity. Xiang Tzu makes an excuse that they know the Resistance pass phrase. Yukka is delighted by this - with this old Heralds leader and Dynasty prince/princess, they can make the Emperor negotiate on their term.

Many moments later, a portal takes the prince/princess, Marcus, and Phang to a swamp, on a barren land the Emperor never really cared about. Not long before they can figure out more things, they see a half-conscious Itu pleading for their help. The Northern Legionaries are attacking Heralds village. Marcus explains that they are Legionaries from far north. Queen Moira was upset with their cruel customs, so she expelled them from the Legion Capital. After taking care of Itu's pursuers, the herald regains his consciousness and thanks them for helping him. Itu explains that the Northerners found Heralds settlement due to being informed by a woman with a cat, and these Legionaries are looking for an easy catch. They recognize the woman as Yukka. According to Marcus, Yukka once asked him if he was keeping in touch with the Northerners, whom Marcus actually has not seen in decades.

Phang wonders how come Yukka sent the Northerners to hunt the Heralds, as she was so eager to unite with them. Itu explains that Yukka was interested in Heralds' crafts and skills. So, she delivered a sphere to Okada to convince him to join forces with the Insusceptibles. Itu emphasizes the word "a", because everything went wrong because of it, and Okada threw her out. As Itu takes them to the Heralds village, Itu informs them that he had tried to talk Okada out of this. It resulted in a fight, and he casted Itu out in the end. Itu says they yet needed months of cautious experiments before Okada went insane - Itu swears it was the cost of his imprisonment.

As they approach the village, they witness the Heralds Spectres capturing a woman with a cat, which is none other than Yukka herself, and it is clear they are about to kill her. Even though they all think she deserves this, they still rescue her from the Spectres. However, Yukka does not even thank them and speaks as if she did nothing wrong. She comments at how Marcus made new Dynasty friends, something which she did not see coming. Marcus compares his friends to Yukka's Insusceptibles, saying that they are noble unlike those rabbles Yukka brought to the Resistance. He then states that people like Yukka and Deng Rao deserve only vengeance and not justice, which he realized too late. Phang interferes and questions Yukka how she got the sphere. Yukka, however, ignores the Captain's question and intends to leave instead. Itu reminds her that they have saved her, to which Yukka replies by stating that this is all happening because of Dynasty: the sphere in the Temple was fake. After the prince/princess stops her attempt of escaping, Yukka tells them that she has nothing to do with the sphere being fake. When she delivered the fake sphere, the shadow energy rig in Heralds village blew up. Phang says Dynasty does not extract shadow energy, to which Yukka replies by saying it is Heralds who have been extracting it for years, taught by Ling. Itu states not anymore, they stopped after Yukka brought the fake sphere and sent the Northerners after Heralds. He threatens Yukka by telling her to pray they better never cross paths again, before taking them to the village.

Xiang Tzu's Adventure: Feeding Demons[]

Some times after the player entered the time portal with Shadow Mind, Shadow takes over the Legion and destroys both the Dynasty capital and Heralds Dome, Yukka is seen to be allied with Kibo, Jet and Xiang Tzu in order to oppose Shadow.

While Xiang Tzu, Jet and Kibo are resting after defeating the weird creatures, Yukka appears and notices the temple crowded with people. She informs Kibo that she has brought the ingredients Master Ling asked for. Kibo introduces Jet, Itu's friend and a skilled mercenary to Yukka. Yukka asks Jet if she works for money, which she questions, thinking if that is her concern, to which Yukka replies in negative that she is not concerned with that at all and she respects that. She then questions the new man she sees, calling him "asymmetrical" and "handsome", which offends Xiang Tzu. He tells Yukka to come closer and find out who he is. Kibo tries to calm him down by saying "asymmetrical" is not an insult. Yukka, however, is fine by Xiang Tzu's enragement and wants him to get a taste of an Insusceptible's blade. Yukka challenges Xiang Tzu to a combat. The enraged Xiang Tzu accepts her challenge and wants to teach her a lesson. Xiang Tzu fights Yukka with all his anger and rage. Her blade is not stronger enough to beat him. Hence Xiang Tzu prevails over her. After being defeated by Xiang Tzu, Yukka commends him for his fighting skills and offers him to join the Insusceptibles. Ling asks her to leave that offer for another time. He has gathered her at the temple for a reason - to defeat Shadow. Furthermore, he tells Yukka that every person of their small circle is extremely useful. He explains that Kibo and Xiang Tzu lost their homeland, Yukka and Jet lost their loved ones. They all want one thing: victory over Shadow. Moreover, he also tells about Galen that he was once an Arrow of Power and a student of Shadow and that he is also siding with them.

Gameplay[]

Chapter IV[]

Cat person (6)

Yukka as a boss in Chapter IV.

Yukka is fought as the second Boss of Chapter IV. She fights with Dynasty fighting style, wielding Governor's Dadao as her weapons and Rigid Boomerangs as her ranged weapon, and utilizes two perks and three Shadow abilities. Shade, her cat, will stay in Shadow form permanently and can pounce at the player if they perform an attack (excluding ranged weapons, throws, and Shadow Abilities) that can hit her (regardless of the attack being blocked) in normal form, or if Yukka in Shadow form uses normal attacks. Shade's attacks also bypass blocks and Legion's unbreakable states, since it's considered a boss ability. After it pounced at the player, it will take a few seconds before it returns to Yukka and can pounce at the player again. The fight can consist of up to five rounds, and the player must win three rounds in order to win.

June's Plane[]

Yukka and Shade is fought again at June's Plane. She was saved by the party but did not buy their generosity and attempts to run away. The player is forced to engage with her to make her speak. She utilizes the exact same equipment, perks and abilities as the last time she's fought. Successful attacks against her (even if the weapon that hit her otherwise isn't held by the player, like ranged weapons, or if the attack did not make direct contact at all, like certain Shadow Abilities like Eruption.) will poison the player. The effect can stack, and will cause the player to lose health over time. The rate of the effect stacking and health depletion depends on the player's stability. Unlike last time the player only needs to win 2 rounds in order to win.

Xiang Tzu's Adventure[]

Power & Abilities[]

  • Shade’s Turn: Shade, Yukka's cat, will assist its master in the fight. A second after the fight starts, Shade will appear on Yukka’s shoulder. If the player performs a normal attack (excluding ranged weapons, throws and Shadow Abilities), that can successfully hit her (whether blocked or not), Shade will rush forward and pounce at the player. The cat will not attack if she is rolling or being off her feet. If Yukka performs a normal attack or a throw in shadow form, Shade will immediately rush and pounce, no matter how far she is from the player. After Shade attacks, it takes 5 seconds for it to return.
  • Shade's True Form: Shade can assumes its true form - a huge feline, and lunges at the pray. If it catches the latter, it will bite and munch at the pray multiple times before throwing it to Yukka.

Trivia[]

  • Initially, Yukka uses a pair of Deer Horns instead of Dadao in all of her boss fights. Her weapon later was changed to Dadao due to the Shade's True Form animation is incompatible with Deer Horns, causes a visual bug during the animation.
  • Her avatar features the unavailable Common Deer Horns instead of Rare Deer Horns.
