The Thing is the name of a main quest and boss fight of Transformation: June's Plane of Shadow Fight 3. It is the first boss fight of Transformation: June's Plane, which takes place inside the Dynasty Palace.
Story[]
The prince/princess and Phang return to the Palace, only to find the Emperor nowhere inside. Instead, there is only a Herald named Itu, and a ferocious shadow beast there. Itu asks them to keep calm and defeat the beast, causing Phang to yell at him and accuse him of having done something to the Emperor. The Herald then responds by warning them that this shadow beast is the Emperor. This all happened because the Sphere started talking. It has awakened and caused all the shadow energy to go mad. Itu said they can defeat this shadow beast if they trust him.
Fight Info[]
The Emperor is fought as the first boss of June's Plane. He gains more attack damage for each hit he takes. The amount of damage he can gain depends on the player's stability; the lower their stability, the more damage boost he will gain for each hit taken. The fight can consist of up to five rounds, and the player must score three victories in order to win. The timer for each round is 99 seconds, and the players must defeat Emperor before the timer ends.
The Emperor utilizes a unique shadow form - a humanoid shadow beast that is extremely agile and has some unique shadow attacks. It has sharp tentacle-like claws for hands, which it uses as its primary offense.

Trivia[]
- The Emperor's fighting style is the same style used by an opponent wielding Claws.
- Emperor utilizes the Critical Charge buff. Any attacks delivered (punches, kicks, claw slashes, or tentacle attacks) when the charge is active are a guaranteed critical, dealing much higher damage than even normal critical hits.
- Unlike the usual case with Heralds' weapons, Emperor's Claws do not glow when the charge is active.
- What happened to the Emperor is a callback to his role as the Sphere Keeper and so is what happened to him in the main world, where his excessive research of the Sphere caused him to turn into shadow beast from time to time.
- This quest shares the same name with a 1982 American science fiction horror film.
