Recalling The Mentor is the name of main quest in Itu's Plane, the second post-game plane of Shadow Fight 3. It is the third and final part of "Bolo's Recollection" flashback, which takes place in the Heralds Dojo.
Story[]
The party found out that this old man called Bolo is actually Itu. They move a bit further into the past to find out how it all started.
The original Bolo is angered at how Itu escaped at night and took out five guards. Itu pleads to his master that he could no longer stand the Academy and begs to leave. Bolo simply brushes his disciple's request off, stating that Itu should not worry about the other people in the Academy who got killed because of the experiments done to enhance Itu, as they are expendable unlike Itu. He commands another batch of injections for the poor disciple, while asking him if he still remembers the Academy motto. Itu states the words have been engraved into his mind and now smell like death: "Forget the Past, Behold the Future". Desperate for freedom, Itu then attacks his master in an attempt to leave the Academy.

Slams the ground with one fist, creating an upward close-range ring of damaging shadow energy around Bolo.
Charges up and rapidly swipes a burst of 12 shadow shurikens at Itu, spawning numerous afterimage copies of Bolo's arms in the process.
Phase 1[]

"Bolo", as "The Real Me", has the face of Itu who fights with his trustworthy katana, while Master Bolo is unarmed. While the memory is being recalled, "Bolo" makes remarks on how much he despises his mentor. He will not answer him anymore and will not kill again for him.

After attacking Bolo and still not allowed to leave, Itu stops the time and traps Bolo with him in his self-made time loop. He will fight his mentor thousands of times if necessary.
Phase 2[]

The fight goes on after Itu stopped the time, with both Heralds now in full shadow form. Bolo is now wielding his Naginata. Both can use their Shadow abilities infinitely.
- Rule(s):
- Shadow Master (Bolo and Itu are in Shadow Form permanently).
- Fading Armor (Bolo has a defense boost which fades over time. The decrease in defense depends on the player's stability; the lower their stability, the slower the defense boost fades away).
Phase 3[]

They battle each other for thirty years inside the spatio-time loop, with "Bolo" faintly remembering the name of his master. However, not even the Rectangle can view the face of his hated master, it's as if the memory of his face is gone.
- Rule(s):
- Shadow Master
- Dangerous Vampire (Bolo can replenish his health by dealing any hits to the player. The amount of health he can gain depends on the player's stability; the lower their stability, the more health Bolo will gain with each hit. This will replace Fading Armor after Bolo is defeated twice).

The fight is over once "The Real Me" wins three rounds. Master Bolo fades into nothingness as his existence is erased. "The Real Me" exits shadow form once the time loop stops, and the wrinkles on his aged face make everything clear: "Bolo" is the Real Itu this whole time, who replaced the original Bolo in his attempt to leave the Academy. The "Itu" who accompanied the player in their journey was a copy. No one knew this, but the guilt from his deeds along with pressure from his copy made Itu pull the decision to block his and the copy's memory and he then lived on under the identity of Bolo. Until now.
