I disagree. With a school such as mine, the Dynasty will no longer need to ask for help from the original Heralds.

Chapter II[]

Kibo serves the Dynasty by having her school join their military. However, June claims that she may only do it for her own profits.

Kibo makes a brief appearance in the Hundred School Tournament after the player's first victory. She congratulates the player and says that she would love to see them in the final. June tells the player that was a sarcastic comment and it is basically her way to threaten someone. June thinks that she is participating in the Tournament, but that is not the case according to Itu. He also gathered some inquiries. Kibo was seen at the palace at the night when the Emperor and the Shadow Sphere went missing. She is also in account with Deng Rao and the Ambassador.

The player, June, and Itu later find out that the Ambassador has sent the Legion soldiers to invade the Dynasty and Kibo is currently trying to fend off the Liquidators, Legion's front liners. They decide to help Kibo fight the Liquidators. Kibo is pleased when the player arrives, but June asks Kibo where the Emperor is and what is up between her and the Ambassador. Kibo reveals that the Ambassador fears her and tried to make the Dynasty close her project, before they are interrupted by the Liquidators. They manage to fight off the Liquidators, so Kibo leaves them, while the trio head back to the square.

Kibo goes to the nearest village to save the Emperor from a monster. She is no match for the monster, and it blows up the shadow rig, fatally wounding her. Despite this, the Emperor is saved from the monster. When the trio finds her, not only Kibo is injured, but her mind is also affected by the shadow contagion and she immediately attacks. The contamination, also enchances her ability, allowing her to move very quickly and perform deadly combos. Despite all of that, the player succeeds in stopping her. Itu then bombards Kibo with questions, but she is too weak to even talk. Kibo could only mutter and tells the trio to escape to the dome, where the Heralds reside. After she recovers, Kibo returns to Galen and informs him about everything that has happened.

Chapter VII: Part 1[]

Sometime after the player entered the time portal with Shadow Mind, Shadow takes over the Legion and destroys both the Dynasty capital and the Heralds Dome. Bolo, wanting to prove Shadow's Decsendant and Itu that changing the past won't stop Shadow from destroying the world, makes an experiment. The party defeats 3 sacrificial shadow bots and then Bolo asks Itu, what does he want to change in the past, what does he regret doing. Itu admits that he was the one who gave Shadow the Accelerator Core prototype. Bolo then gives Shadow's Decsendant his cape and sends him/her to the past to stop Itu from making that mistake. As a result of Descendant's actions, Itu got attacked by some "stranger" while Kibo stole the prototype. Bolo then sends Descendant to stop Kibo from giving the prototype to Shadow. Descendant screws up Kibo's plan, and returns to the present time. Bolo then tells the party that Iolanda gave the prototype to Shadow. Once again, Bolo sends the Descendant to prevent this from happening. After defeating Iolanda in the past, Descendant returns to Bolo to hear the most interesting part: Bolo says that he is the one who gave the Accelerator Core prototype to Shadow. He acknowledges that Shadow has an impressive historical importance index, which makes anything he wants to happen come true, no matter what.

What happened to Kibo after she failed to deliver the Accelerator Core prototype remains unknown.

Transformation: June's Plane[]

The prince/princess, Phang, Marcus, and Xiang Tzu investigate a dirty shadow energy business in the Capital by heading to the school. There, the cultist girl that was captured by Deng Rao earlier is present. Xiang Tzu says they know each other, and she helps him investigating this place; her name is Kibo. Phang wonders why she ran away when they asked her questions. Kibo states that asking questions is an understatement, while rhetorically asking them what she is supposed to do. But, since the Mad Master trusts them, she will help them. Kibo informs that the Prefect is here, but he overdid it with the shadow doping. The prince/princess manages to calm him down, although he falls unconscious, so they cannot get anything from him now. Marcus deduces that this guy used raw shadow energy to boost his powers, and it destroys one's body and mind. That is why the one and only Legion Shadow Squad was terminated. Kibo says that a man comes to this school on certain days. He brings along a large bag with him. He is often seen in the bazaar, so they head there to find him. The prince/princess detains the guy, and he tells them where he gets those shadow energy, which he then delivers to the school.

When Moira was a child, Bolo forced Moira to be around the Sphere for hours on end. He forced her to take the thing inside the Sphere and put it into a baby. For Marcus, the Sphere is just some abstract curiosity. But for her, it is a living nightmare. As the queen feels fatigue, they are suddenly teleported into the destroyed dojo, where a living nightmare of Moira awaits. The voice of the Sphere made one of Moira's nightmare alive. After the prince/princess takes care of the thing, Phang only realizes now that this place is the dojo. Kibo suddenly appears, with her right eye flashing in shadow energy. She says to Phang that this is Galen's legacy he left to the Dynasty, before she blabbers that she was blind for so long and now she sees how miserable everything is. The Arrows of Power and Knowledge are gone, while only the Arrow of Peace is left, which she says is the problem. Kibo then left them all, confused at what she was talking about. The Sphere is not a glass ball all this time, it is a person, although they do not know who it is.

They reach the Palace. Queen Moira is there, along with Kibo and the dead Emperor she murdered. The queen refers to Kibo as the woman that became a new Sphere. And she strangely feels relieved all of a sudden. The queen says she does not know why she does not want to hurt Kibo, she is not the one to blame. Kibo yells at everyone to stay away from her, saying that she just liberated the Emperor from his burden. Arrow of Peace is gone, he is now a happy dead man in his bliss. Kibo has seen and remembers everything, including June. How they grew up together, how Kibo hated her smile, how she was stupid and naive. But June was her friend, and she says that the prince/princess has taken June from her. Kibo thinks that maybe if she kills the prince/princess now, it will bring June back. Kibo's movements are enhanced with the shadow power inside of her, allowing her to move quickly. Despite this, the prince/princess succeeds in stopping Kibo. She then starts regaining her mind bit by bit, saying that she does not understand how could those words come out so freely. The Stranger suddenly appears out of nowhere, telling Kibo that those words were always there, but she did not realize it. That is how the Shadow Mind works, it reveals everything hidden. Stranger informs that they see through time and space, but they do not know it. Shadow Mind makes them know, but it has gone mad and sees only the grief now.

Transformation: Itu's Plane[]

Proxy gains their consciousness back, inside an Arsenal where their fate is currently being discussed by some figures. A woman identified as Mistress Kibo tells Kitsune-1 something which seems she has been repeating many times, that her partner is out of order and they will be sent for reformatting. Another woman identified as Mistress June agrees with Mistress Kibo, saying that this matter falls under her jurisdiction. It could be worse if there is even a slightest possibility that Proxy has been hacked by Nanami. Kitsune-1 desperately tries speaking to Proxy, hoping that her partner will at least respond with anything; their speech module has been damaged, seemingly by Bolo. It is revealed that Proxy's other modules are still functioning after they sparred with June's bodyguard. In fact, Mistress Kibo states that Proxy fights better, which she figures out to be Bolo's doing. This old human is at Isolation Floor currently, and Mistress Kibo plans to interrogate him tonight, as he witnessed Nanami attacking Proxy before fleeing. Mistress June points out that considering his age, this is unacceptable, as that place is literally catacombs. They are then interrupted by the arrival of a cyborg woman identified as Boss, which Mistress June calls Iolanda. The Boss requests both Mistresses to leave at once, as her hunters must attend an urgent, confidential meeting.

In the Isolation Floor, Mistress Kibo arrives there and she immediately initiates Code Nine upon seeing Proxy, who is now wanted by the Security Committee. As the guards attempt to detain Proxy, Bolo asks them to stay away from the bot. June then helps Bolo convincing them, revealing that he is the time traveler Stranger. Kibo questions if he is really the one whose knowledge equals the Void Room itself and he who exists beyond time, to which Bolo confirms with an irritated tone. He then remembers that June said something about needing help, but he would like to see her father first. Bolo hopes that he might remember him, and he wants Proxy to come along. Mistress Kibo warns June that they will be in big problem if Iolanda's men spot them. She suggests to head straight to her and deal with this the legal way. Mistress June does not trust Iolanda anymore - she does not consider questioning the Room's order at all. hTe cyborg woman is pretty much like a bot herself according to her. June then says that she knows already that the Judges are coming after Kibo, which means soon she will leave the office and her mind will join the Void Room's mind. She, however, is still June's friend now and she pleads with Kibo to understand, as they are almost finished with the Accelerator, but they do not even know if their cause is right. June needs the Stranger's advice and expertise, someone's opinion and not just the Room's order. They are, however, interrupted by an attack from a hacked surveillance bot. It is quickly taken care of by Proxy, although Mistress June cannot help but wonder if this is Nanami's trick again. Mistress Kibo does not have much time left as she must report to Iolanda. She then teleports all of them to the Palace, after bidding her friend goodbye.

"I'm glad that in this world, Kibo and June were finally able to realize the true value of their friendship. But why did they both sound like they were parting for good? June said something about the Void Room..."
–Hero Note #19

After the Boss fails to stop Proxy, Kibo suddenly appears before them. Her mind has been completely absorbed by the Void Room and she is now the new Grand Arbitress, a literal embodiment of Void Room's avatar and voice. The Nexus orders Iolanda to stop, as she rendered a new solution: both Okada's creation - the Descendant's copy and the time traveler Bolo are to be arrested. Nexus then lists their crimes: Descendant committed annihilation of the world, and Bolo committed more than twenty clauses of crimes against humanity. The Nexus justifies that she does not murder innocents, but she judges. The new order is to transport both Descendant's copy and Bolo to the Nexus for judgement. The Boss warns the Arbitress that this copy is too powerful and cannot be beaten, and Kitsune-1 will not hand over the deactivation code. The Nexus recognizes an error in a protocol that stops Kitsune-1 from disclosing the code, but Nexus knows the code too. Through Kibo, the Nexus utters the phrase: Trust me. As Arbitress Kibo instantly disappears, everyone is capable of moving again.

Nanami asks Itu the real name of the Void Room to begin hacking, but Arbitress Kibo appears before Itu could even say something, enraged at the infiltration of the Nexus. It states both the Descendant and Shadow Mind led the world to its end and the verdict will be death. However, the Nexus suddenly contradicts itself when it states Nexus in on edge. It identifies the old man as Authentic Itu and lists his crimes for disclosure of private information on time travels and rewriting world matter, and then contradicts itself again by saying Nexus is the guilty one for disclosing the data first, and Itu simply used it to experiment on humans. Nanami informs Proxy that Nexus is unstable and cannot come to a unified solution, and now is their chance to attack the Arbitress, as the Nexus is helpless without her. Proxy proceeds to attack the Arbitress, who is now conflicted by the Nexus debating with itself, asking various questions to itself and Proxy. Nexus is a collective mind that includes many Heralds who lived long ago, and not all of them are against the Descendant's cause, hence the reason for Nexus to contradict itself over and over. Using this fact, Proxy gains the upper hand by siding with the minds that shares their sentiment when answering Nexus' questions, eventually defeating the Arbitress.Shibata manages to hack the Void Room after learning its true name, as well as sending Arbitress Kibo to another timeline, albeit only temporarily.

Finale: The Gates of Shadows[]

Kibo is one of the Resistance, a group of people that fight against Stranger and his army.

June is attacked and held hostage by Twelfth. She threatens that the resistance should not move, or else June would be killed. Kibo threatens her back. Itu recognizes that she is a suicide agent working for the Descendant. He told her and everyone to get back and fights her personally.

After all the shards of the Hero is collected, Kibo shows up to report that the descendant's generals are approaching the tower in an attempt to stop Mnemos from performing the ritual. May, however, is determined to tell him that they are ready to defend the ancient even if it would cost their lives. The Void Speaker's triplets is keeping them from entering the door but the sisters are outnumbered. May orders Void Speaker (or Ishtar as she calls her) to activate the defenses in the communications center and get her people out and also orders Jet to help her. Kibo then informs that Azuma is severely injured, and is now resting in the infirmary with Shibata taking care of him. However, she can barely stand up herself, so May has her take shelter herself and treat her injuries first.

Boss Fight[]

KiboSuperAbility

Thousand Cuts.

Kibo is the last boss of Chapter II. She uses Scalpel as her weapon, and she utilizes a special ability and three shadow abilities. The player must win three rounds in order to win. The shadow contamination has enhanced her ability greatly. When her eye flashes blue, Kibo will dash forward when performing any attack. That ability is called Shadow Onslaught. In her shadow form, besides the normal shadow abilities, she can use a unique move called Thousand Cuts, in which she charges shadow energy into her Katana and then stabs forward. If she successfully hits the player, she will slash the player airborne and perform a combo of dashes to damage the player.

Kibo is also fought as an opponent in Chapter VII: Part I. The player fights her in the past to stop her from delivering the Accelerator Core prototype to Shadow, after she snatched it from Itu. She utilizes the exact same equipment, perks, and special abilities like in the previous fight with her. Unlike before, the player only needs to win two rounds this time.

Kibo is fought as a cultist girl in June's Plane part 1. The player fights her to make her speak. She utilizes the exact same equipments and perks seen in previous fights, but she cannot use Thousand Cuts and Shadow Onslaught since she isn't infected by the shadow contagions. The cultist girl is capable of recharging her shadow energy quickly in this fight. The amount of shadow energy she can gain depends on the player's stability; the lower their stability, the more shadow energy she will gain with each hit dealt or taken. She also has a very high shadow damage, regardless of the player's stability. The player only need to win 2 rounds in order to win.

Kibo is fought as an opponent in June's Plane part 3. Kibo has gone insane due to her connection with Shadow Mind and the Shadow Energy causes her to go into that state with the voice of the Energy turning into a roar. She somehow believes that killing the player will bring June back, and the player must stop her and make her come to her senses. She utilized the exact same equipment, perks and special abilities like in the previous fights with her. However, she can now obtain Shadow Energy quickly by dealing or receiving damage. She also has a very high Shadow Damage, regardless of the player's stability. Unlike her initial fight in chapter 2, the player only needs to win 2 rounds this time.

Kibo is fought yet again as a boss in Itu's Plane, as the Grand Arbitress of the Void Room. The Nexus cannot come to a unified solution because while the Nexus collects many memories of the people living in the Heralds dome in the past, not all of them are against the descendant's cause. Due to this, Kibo will ask questions to the Descendant once in a while, noted in the game as a rule called Trial of Nexus. Selecting the correct answer will restore the Descendant's health by 25%, while an incorrect one, or if the player didn't choose an answer (standing between the red and the blue zones) will deplete his/her health by 15%. The Descendant also loses health gradually when they're standing on the red zone, and Arbitress Kibo restores health gradually when she is standing in the blue zone. The rate of health restoration and depletion depends on the player's stability. Due to her status, she no longer has the same abilities, she can use in the past fights, and instead uses the Divine Judge set bonus, and asking questions to the Descendant.

For the answers for each separate question, they can be found here.

Trivia[]

  • Kibo proudly claims that her Iron Beaks school is comparable to the original Heralds and that they do not even need their help anymore. However, Ling, who once was an experienced Herald, states that Kibo's school is crap. His statement turns out to hold some truth to it, as Kibo only taught the Heralds fighting style and it is even implied to be limited as the majority of her students are never seen wielding any weapons other than the Glaive, with Xiang Tzu being the only known exception (in fact he's not, since in his second fight in the Hundred Schools Tournament, he wields the glaive as his weapon of choice. It was only his training in the prison, which caused him to ditch the Glaive for his current triple-style.) The school is also completely missing out the true essence of Heralds: their knowledge in shadow energy and advanced technologies.
  • In Finale: The Gates of Shadows, June revealed that Kibo and her were raised as sisters.
    • She was been told that Kibo's parents died due to a certain shadow disease.
    • She also said that Kibo jumped higher, counted faster, aimed more accurately and escaped from the palace regularly. Once, she disappeared for two months and returned with a new katana style of the Heralds, referring to her current fighting style.
  • In the Spring of Hearts event, it is revealed that May inspires Kibo because she likes her dragonfly pendant and that she looks determined, even though she doesn't want to admit it at first.
  • According to the Synchronizer after completing Irrational Science event, it shows Grand Arbitress Kibo's response to Shibata's letter that caused him wanting to be left alone. It was written that she once asked Shibata to accept her as his student, but he rudely turned her away because of her lack of talent.
  • Kibo made a brief appearance in Void Speaker's Adventure: Battle of Laws as "Light's Voice".
