Trivia[]
- A quarterstaff or short staff is a traditional European pole weapon, which was especially prominent in England during the Early Modern period.
- In Chinese, the staff is referred to as gun (Chinese: 棍; pinyin: gùn; lit. 'rod, stick') or bang (Chinese: 棒; pinyin: bàng; lit. 'rod, club'). The gun is known as one of the four major weapons in Chinese martial arts, along with the qiang (spear), dao (curved sword), and jian (straight sword). It is called, in this group, "The Grandfather of all Weapons".
- In Japanese, the staff is refferred to as bō (Japanese: 棒), a staff weapon used in Okinawa, and jō, a staff that is shorter than the bō.
- The Staff, along with the Fans, are the only weapon types that lose contact with the wielder's hands during their Super Slash. Every other weapon type is always in the hands of its wielder, unless shocked.
