Storyline[]

Sarge's Adventure: Burning Blood[]

A northerner came to the Fortress who wants to find Otto Heim, also known as Sarge. The guards escorted him to prison but the Abdicators were interested in him. The story starts a few days later. Greta hands over Sarge's hammers to Gizmo and asks him what Sarge needs them for and if it was connected to the Northerner who was captured a couple of days ago. Gizmo is not sure about that since Sarge did not give him all the details. Greta asks if Sarge is now friends with the Northerners, to which Gizmo answers that it is not their concern whether Sarge has befriended Northerners or not and also that he fears the Abdicators. The persistent purists come and attack them. Gizmo and Greta both successfully fight them off. After the fight, Gizmo is scared and explains Greta that the purists keep coming at them since Sarge was demoted and the Shadow Squad disbanded and Sarge is in prison and he is about to explain more until Greta interrupts him and says she will walk with him to Sarge's prison so he does not need to worry, to which he agrees. They both are going to meet Sarge in the prison. In the meanwhile, Sarge and the captured Northerner are arguing. The captured Northerner is revealed to be Sven. Sarge has reached his prison cell to help him escape. Sarge basically wanted to leave Sven to rot in prison for another week but he spares him because of the holiday and orders him to leave and never return to the Fortress again. Sven now understands why people call him "lucky". It is because Sarge already deigned to speak to him after his just three days in prison. Sarge rebukes him and tells him that all his brothers are in the Legion and once again orders him to leave before the Abdicators arrive if he does not want to go to the tower. Sven ignores that and reveals that his mother sends him a message. She wants Sarge to come back, at least for a day. Sarge wonders what she is plotting this time. The Abdicators arrive just then. The one who showed up first in Reinhard. Sarge fights him and takes him down. Sarge disagrees to come to the forest just to know his mother's other plans and angrily tells Sven again that she is not his mother. Sven tells Sarge that she is about to set for the sun shores and wishes to see Sarge one last time. Sarge then thinks that his mother is dying. Greta and Gizmo suddenly arrive just then, giving Sarge his hammers and apologizing for the delay. Greta is shocked to see the Abdicator's body on the ground and asks if he is really Inquisitor Reinhard. Sven teases Sarge for asking his people to bring him his weapons. Sarge does not care at all. He greets Greta, Gizmo's sister and orders Gizmo to clean up the prison cell as he will be going away for some time. A few moments later, Helga arrives at the prison cell and is devastated to see her father lying on the ground and assumes Sarge killed him. Greta explains the conspiracy Reinhard fell victim to - Sarge betrayed the Legion, attacked Helga's father and helped the captured northerner escape. However, she comforts Helga by telling her that her father is not dead, just unconscious. To hide their alliance with Sarge from Helga, Greta and Gizmo make a false promise to her that they will bring Sarge to justice as soon as possible. Believing in their false oath, Helga wishes them farewell and asks them to be sure to capture the escaped Northerner as he is their young prince and he is too important. In the meantime, Sarge and Sven are planning their escape at the Legion streets. Sven asks Sarge to hurry and does not like the fact that Sarge has lost all his agility during his time in the Legion. Sarge then says that losing his agility is nothing as compared to having a rope around his neck. Sarge then points at a young guy, who is an Abdicator. If the Abdicator suspects anything and raises the alarm, they are done for. He asks Sven to sit quietly while he knocks him out. Sarge fights him and knocks him out. The duo is about to leave until Greta and Gizmo arrive just then and ask them to let them come along with them. Gizmo explains to Sarge the false oath he and his sister made to Helga that they will capture Sarge in order to hide their alliance with Sarge from her. Sven now realizes that Sarge was so slow not because he lost his agility during his time in the Legion, but because he was merely waiting for his friends. Sven feels glad to see them as their brothers will welcome them as their dear guests. Sarge furiously orders everyone to be silent and threatens to kill everyone and proceed further himself if they do not. Sarge and his companions continue their restless journey together and reach the northern village. Gizmo is tired. Gizmo hears some loud sounds and assumes that the Northerners are loud folks and that their celebrations have already started. Sven corrects him by saying that these are the sounds of battle, indicating that the village is under attack. He suspects Ragnar to be the mastermind of this attack. Sarge orders Sven to check on their mother while he will take care of Ragnar himself, as he's his childhood enemy. He orders Gizmo to deal with Ragnar's henchmen himself. His sister assists him. The two siblings fight off Ragnar's henchmen. After defeating the enemy's henchmen, Gizmo remarks that distinguishing between northern bandits and common folk is challenging due to their similar appearance because they look like thugs. His sister suggests that they should be careful not to generalize or make assumptions about people based on their appearances. Gizmo takes back his words as he finds Ragnar most menacing of all thugs. Greta, however, hopes Sarge will be fine. Sarge now meets his childhood enemy once again face to face. They both fight. During the fight, Ragnar uses a new tactic - he blows his horn, emitting pressure waves strong enough to damage Sarge but not strong enough for him to defeat Sarge. Sarge defeats him and proves to be victorious. At the end of the fight, Sarge taunts him by saying that he is still as weak as he was in the past. After Sarge defeats Ragnar, Sven thanks him and his associates for their help in saving their village. Yet, a tinge of sorrow lingers, as they arrive too late—Mother has embarked on an endless journey. Sarge needs rest and allows the others to celebrate without him. Sven refuses as there is no time to rest. Mother has sent Sarge a gift, which he can only receive if he enters the Bridge-Between while Winter Star is still high. Gizmo is surprise by seeing this inheritance and finds Sarge to be rich now. Sven takes them all to the Ancestors' Arena. When they reach there, Greta realizes that the Ancestor's Arena is the Eternal Rest and warns the others that Legion law forbids entering it. Sarge however ditches Legion law and is ready to go in. Sven prompts the remaining group, suggesting that commencing the sacred battle before the watchful gaze of their ancestors would be wise and wishes that the Fire will help him. Sarge goes on alone to the blessed battle and succeeds. Sven congratulates him on his victory and wishes him good luck for the rest of his mission. Sarge reaches the Bridge-Between where he gets to fight the spirits of the ancient northerners. Millenium Wolf approaches him tests his strength against some drevars. Sarge beats them all and proves to be worthy, completing the first challenge. The next challenge starts. This time, Millenium Wolf tests him against his grandfather, Kagun. Sarge beats him as well. Millenium Wolf congratulates Sarge on proving his right to bear the title of drevar and weild the power of Fire. He also orders him to serve the ways of his ancestors with honor. Sarge, however, does not understand anything Millenium Wolf said. Sarge is sent back to the real world. Sarge goes to Sven to clarify everything with him. It is revealed that this was Sarge's gift after all - he rejected his right to bear the title of drevar at his young age but his mother returned it to him. Sarge does not agree with this. He does not want to stay in the Bridge-Between. He does accept the life of a saint or an ascetic. He says that he would rather be a good jailor than a bad drevar. Sven commends Sarge by saying that he is good at everything he does. Sven also tells him that he would do anything to have strength like his and he always wished to be a drevar but for now, he has another responsibility of taking care of his brothers in his mother's place. Sarge responds to him that he will lead his life according to his will, not according to the North. Sven then welcomes his brothers and sisters in the village to the Winter Star Festival and encourages them to hurry lest they miss the best fights. The Winter Star Festival is in full swing. Sven is enjoying his food. Gizmo comes to him and mocks his food, assuming it is a pie with bees. Greta hears a sound and asks Sven what happened. Sven silences both of them. He senses enemies in the bushes as no northerner makes so much noise when moving among the branches. Since Sarge is still weak and is sleeping, Greta and Gizmo volunteer to help Sven in his place. Gizmo and Greta both fight Red Lion and take him down together. After their battle, Sarge wakes up and questions as to what happened and wonders if these people came for him, to which Gizmo responds that he doubts it. Sarge should have witnessed the looks on their faces when they encountered Greta and him. They were definitely surprised. However, the question remains, why did they venture here if not for them. Sven suddenly notices that their mother's records are gone. Sarge questions what the records are. He sees no way the purist thugs can even read. Sven explains that the records are about Northern magic. The Inquisitor came to the forest half a year ago, seeking information about the Wheel of History. Sarge is shocked to hear this. He fears that Reinhard might do something wrong with the records. He needs to report it to the Queen as soon as possible. Sarge, Gizmo and Greta hurriedly get back to the Fortress. Sven follows them as well. Sarge spots him and furiously orders Sven to go back to the forest as northerners as not allowed to enter the Fortress. He wants him to go before the guards see him. Sven refuses. He cannot let Sarge go alone as he dragged him into this, so he wants to meet the Executioner together with him. Sarge tells him that the Executioner is not the one he is afraid of but the people in the Abdicators' Tower who deal with fire worshippers. They might hurt Sven. Sven does not care and he still refuses. Sarge has no choice but to fight his brother to send him away to safety. Both of the brothers fight barehanded to avoid doing any serious harm to each other. The two fight and Sarge wins at last. Sarge is surprised that Sven is no longer a boy with bright eyes but a real warrior now. Sven thanks Sarge for going easy on him ever since he was a child. Sven tells Sarge that life was not easy for him without him. Their mother thought that Sarge would become the hope of them and the whole North. Sarge, however, advises Sven to remain as the hope of the North instead because he is a good guy, while Sarge just wants to be rich and famous. Gizmo is surprised that Sarge is doing something exactly as he thought. Greta silences him. Sven is happy that Sarge has a dream as good as any other. But he has to follow it. He advises Sarge to go and not fail in achieving his dream. Sven finally agrees to leave. Sarge thanks Sven for visiting him but next time, he would like to be the one to pay him a visit and wishes the Winter Star blesses him. Sven finally leaves. Gizmo feels good to be finally back home. Gizmo asks Sarge his next plan. His next plan is to inform Queen about Reinhard because if he has the secret of the Wheel of History, he might do something wrong. Greta is scared Sarge might get executed if he goes to the Queen now. Sarge will still however be able to warn her about the danger and they will deal with what happens after that. He asks his companions to distract the guards for him under disguise, while he goes to the Queen. Gizmo and Greta both take care of the guards. Gizmo then suggest that they leave while they still can. Greta hopes that the Queen does not get Sarge hanged. She knows very well how the Queen feels about him. The two siblings leave the Fortress. In the meanwhile, Sarge has come to meet the Queen in the Throne Room. The Queen is surprised that Sarge has returned bravely to them. Sarge is about to inform her about Reinhard just before Helga appears and spots him and orders three of her investigators to keep him from approaching the Queen and capture him. Sarge now has fiery power which he can use in battle. Sarge fights off all three of her investigators. After dealing with the investigators, Sarge gets the opportunity to inform both Helga and the Queen about Reinhard - he has stolen ancient magical secrets from the Northerners and he thinks the interrogators should find out what Reinhard needs them for. He is willing to attend to this matter personally. Queen Iolanda wants him to provide an evidence that allows him to tarnish the name of the Grand Inquisitor of the Abdicators. Sarge does not have any evidence but he has many witnesses. Helga requests Queen to get Sarge arrested as he is a heretic and a traitor. She and her people saw that Sarge use fire magic so he must be executed. She, using the authority given to her by King of the Legion, commands Sarge to surrender or meet his death. Sarge wants to do everything he can to bring the truth to the Queen. He chooses to fight Helga in battle. He uses all his skills to take her down, including his fiery ability. Even her Power of Light proves to be nothing against him. Sarge defeats Helga at last. At the end of the battle, he apologizes to the Queen for the mess he has made. The Queen is shocked to see Sarge using fire magic. Sarge tries to comfort her by saying that it is just a small glimpse of his past as he is from the North after all. He was able to perform these little tricks with fire even in his childhood, but they are nothing compared to shadow energy. The Queen is glad to see that Sarge emphasizes shadow energy over fire magic but does not believe in his report of Abdicators plotting treachery against them using northern magic and wants him to come with something more realistic. Sarge is speechless. The Queen sees that his work as a jailor has not yet saved him from his reckless pride and orders him to return to it immediately. She also seizes his hammers and armor. Sarge obeys her command with honor but requests her to keep his equipment safe as he will be back for them.

Chapter I: Legion[]

Sarge is the sergeant of Shadow Squad, a squad in the Legion who use Shadow energy in their mission. He welcomes the player as the new recruit of Shadow Squad. He then proceeds to teach the player how to fight, testing their capability with Gizmo, and explaining the Shadow Squad to them. Not long after, a trespasser is spotted on their camp at night. The trespasser, who's name is June, gets captured and warns them about an upcoming invasion to the Bamboo Fort led by Deng Rao, the Dynasty warlord. Sarge decides to take the player with him to check the Fort, and they take June as their hostage.

When Sarge and the player arrive at the Fort, Deng Rao and his soldiers have already burned it, taking down their Legion army in the process. Sarge realizes that Deng Rao is overly confident with himself. He then sets up a strategy to take down his soldiers and beating Deng Rao by taking advantage of the warlord's self-confidence. As predicted, Deng Rao is shocked when they confront him at the Falcon's Gorge. Sarge proceeds to mock him by saying that he will be beaten by a rookie. After Deng Rao is defeated by the player, Sarge delivers his speech to him. He says that they will kill ten Dynastians for each fallen Legionary and Deng Rao must deliver this message to their Emperor. Seeing the truce is endangered, June desperately tries to convince everyone that the Emperor has nothing to do with this. Sarge, however, doesn't buy this and they return to the camp.

After interrogating June, Sarge sets his eyes to retrieve the Shadow Sphere, to seize the Dynasty from their source of power.

Sarge puts on a false track to mislead any potential enemies. He sends out a fake order to Gizmo to retrieve the Sphere, so the enemies will head in the wrong way and no one will get in his way to the Sphere. When the player and June retrieve this piece of information from Gizmo and return to the camp, Sarge pits the player with the new recruit of the brand-new Shadow Squad to test their new power, stating that one person from the new squad is more than enough to take them down. Even though the new Squad is better than the old one, the player still manages to win. Since the player has betrayed the Legion by siding with June, Sarge has been given the command to execute the player (which he thought was from the Elders), and he will send the Executioner to do the job. However, the player can defeat the Executioner, much to Sarge's surprise. He has no choice but to confront the player himself.

Sarge challenges the player to an old-fashioned duel, where there are no Shadow forms allowed. The player can defeat Sarge without much difficulty. Not wanting the player to win, Sarge ditches the rule and goes into permanent Shadow form, allowing him to use Shadow ability infinitely to prevent the player from winning. He also uses an ability in which he walks forward with a strengthened armor and once Sarge gets close enough to the player, he smashes the player's stomach and then hits their head with his weapon. Despite all this, the player still defeats him.

Sarge then curses the player, telling them that they could have died honorably, and they still have a court-martial awaiting them.

After this failure, Sarge is arrested and taken to the Legion Fortress, where he is to be executed. However, the Queen still has mercy and spares his life, making Sarge a prison guard instead. Spending his time in the Fortress prison, Sarge gets to learn all the power corruption inside the Fortress, which is kept secret from almost everyone, including himself.

Chapter VI: Heart of the Legion[]

Sarge joins the party's conversation when they are talking about the Elders and the Queen, informing them about the true nature of the Queen. He recognizes who Marcus is, and still remembers the player. Sarge sets them free because he needs help in oppressing an incoming Dynastian prisoners riot, which would join Deng Rao's army who were heading to the Fortress. After the player stops the prisoners and their leader, Sarge leads them out in order to drive away Deng Rao's invasion. While dealing with the Dynastian, Sarge updates Marcus on what he has learned about the Queen, about how she has gone so far from the true Legion percepts. Once Deng Rao is beaten, Sarge captures him and throws him in the prison, hopefully making the ambitious warlord reevaluate his dreams. When he confronts the Queen together with the party, Sarge tries to convince the Queen that they are not enemies, as they helped stopping Dynasty attacks, to no avail.

Sometime after the player entered the time portal with Shadow Mind, Shadow takes over the Legion and destroys both the Dynasty capital and the Heralds Dome. What happened to Sarge remains unknown.

Transformation: June's Plane[]

Sarge appears as the opponent in the finale of the Alliance between Legion and Dynasty. He wields the same equipment and same ability. The prince/princess mange to defeat them in the finale. The sergeant commends on the prince/ss' skill, calling it an epic fight and wishes for the Alliance to last forever.

Transformation: Itu's Plane[]

Sarge appears in Itu's Plane, identified as Sad Otto. His appearance is very brief as a regular enemy.

Transformation: Marcus's Plane[]

Sarge appears as the sergeant of the Crimson Army who accompanies player in their journey. He starts by waking up the general from their dreams by telling them that Gizmo has come to meet them. Gizmo informs them that almost a hundred men have gone AWOL. It has been a week since they had heard from them. He was sent by Ursus the Immortal to general. Sarge then tells him to wait for them in the yard as it is their time for their morning prayer. He apologizes to player for ruining their morning and he blesses them before going to fetch some water for general.

As they move on, Gizmo tells him that many batallions have their soldiers missing. Sarge got angry and confirms that it has happened before their anniversary of their victory, but they would tuck their tails as soon as they saw their General. Gizmo then informs them that he have their lead on their whereabouts and asks general if they should depart now. Suddenly, Sarge saw some men who were attacking a woman over the bridge. After general defeats the assassin, the woman turns out to be Greta, Gizmo's elder sister. Sarge was least expected to be her here. Greta thanks General for protecting her and she also needs help, although she doesn't want them to be disturbed by her in their resting days. The Nomads sent her a message that the shadow marshes had broken up in their banks. A Liquidator squad was sent to help locals with the problem, but a week has passed and they didn't report back to the Fortress and doubt that something must have happened to them. Gizmo pacifies her sister that lieutenant Seigfried can handle this and gets impatient for the deserters who wouldn't be so kind waiting for them. Sarge then tells him to shut up as it is General who will decide where to go first.

Depending on the choice of the player, they would go either with the Lost Squad or Deserters first. After General decides to go with lost squad first, Gizmo gets irritated and tells to her that she can't get everything she wants every time, but Greta thanked General for going in her side and said that she will be forever in their debt. She tells Sarge to give her the map so that she could tell the fastest ways to the shadow marshes.

After they were going through the shortest way in which Greta told about, Tarlan comes in their way who greets them and asks them what they made them there. Looking at his pet hawk, Gizmo then asks in curiosity that who this parrot is. Greta then stops Gizmo from embarassing her telling that he is the prince of nomads he is talking about. Tarlan forgives them and said that the contamination is tough this time and these poor souls are surrounding the clinic and are ready to break the gates. Sarge tells him not to worry as they will help their warriors. Then General fight off infected locals to save a nomad doctor. After General deals with it, the doctor turns out to be Shibata. Tarlan then greets him and asks him why the contamination is worse than usual. Shibata then tells that this infection is spreading too quickly. He sent a messenger two weeks ago but the Liquidators didn't come to help. Greta was shocked and asked if they had even showed up. Sarge agreed her and tells that they couldn't neglect their duties and they move on to check their camps for this. Tarlan then couldn't express his gratitude towards General for helping him as the Steppes will remember this day when they saved Shibata and then, he will save his unfortunate people. He tells them not to bother with an answer as he know about their vow of silence and asked Shibata what they can do for them. After that, the General gets two choices which will affect them in their following fight.

After general takes either of the two choices they head towards the Liquidators' camp, but they can't see anyone. Sarge tells her that no one knows what have happened here and tells her to be quiet for now. Suddenly, she sees Jane who was one of the Liquidators and asks her where Lieutenant Seigfried is and asked why she didn't go to the marshes, but Jane doesn't respond and starts attacking them. The General quickly stands up against her to protect them. Also, Jane transforms into a shadow beast after losing one round, making her more dangerous. Despite that, she is defeated by the General. Sarge has seen a lot of things but didn't see this thing. Greta, who became worried after seeing her turned into a shadow beast tells that it's the beginning of the end and they must find Seigfried, but Gizmo doubts if the lieutenant is also a shadow monster too and it can lead them to death if they fight him, but Greta believes that he won't cause any harm to her. Sarge, after agreeing with Gizmo, asks General what they should do now as Gizmo could be right. He suggests to investigate the camp first as it would be wiser. After then, they went to search Seigfried's tent when they saw a nomad inside his tent. He thought that they were going to capture him and tells them to go away and leave him alone. But General deals with the nomad and eventually, he is defeated. Sarge orders him to kneel before the Crimson Army General and asks if he is there to snatch Liquidators' supplies. The nomad answers by saying that Shadows are howling all over the Steppe and he came here for help. When he learns the secret, they captured him. The Great Shadows got their hands on these Liquidators and all of them turned into shadow beasts. They left him on Greta's request and she showed them the letter from Seigfried as she know that this would happen someday. It says, that Greta, her love. It happened. Now they belong to the Shadows. He knew what will wait for them at the fortress and he would protect them. Forgave him. She tells that Seigfried wanted to take his people away into the wilds and they must stop him as there is no time to lose.

The party went outside the tent to stop Seigfried when suddenly, Sarge saw someone and orders him to stop. Then he asks to them if they could see that guy and asks if he is another Liquidator. The guy named Scourge gets excited after seeing the party and says that the master will be pleased after seeing more Legionaries. Greta asks him about the whereabouts of Seigfried and asks if he took him. She begged him where the Liquidators are but Scourge answers by telling that all Liquidators have gone where his master needed, and they are their next servants. Scourge fights in permanent shadow form. However, the General proves to be victorious at the end. Sarge examines that this is not an infected one. He has seen all of them but this one is made up of shadow energy itself. Gizmo wonders if he was the one who drove the Liquidators mad and started to think that the problem has now been solved, but Greta doesn't get convinced by his brother and points that something is coming for their sins. She feels that Seigfried is somewhere nearby and he would not leave until all of his people are gone into the forest and feels that he is watching them from somewhere.

The party then went to the bamboo forest where they see Seigfried who has completely turned into a shadow beast. He still has some senses left inside and he is fighting his inner beast. After seeing them, Seigfried tries to tell them to go away as the Master is calling them, but he couldn't speak clearly thanks to the fact that he was starting to lose himself. Greta can't break the law of the Immortals, so she tells him that the Immortals will purify him and his soldiers. Seigfried then says that his other Liquidators have gone in the woods and he is the only one left. Seigfried gives them last warning to go away before cursing the Immortals and starts attacking them. The General quickly defends them and fights him. Seigfried has the ability to destroy General's shadow ability by his special move which will prevent them from using shadow ability. He also has the ability to deal an explosive damage when either his shadow bar is full or his health gets out. However, the General manages to defeat him at the end. After that, Greta tells about the Liquidators that for burning their opponent's shadow energy, they have a shadow beast inside them and only few people knew about this ancestral gift. She was confused as why their beasts took control over them and thinks that something must have changed that they hadn't realised yet. Soon, their will be a patrol and Seigfried and other Liquidators will be taken to the Fortress. She tells them about Seigfried when he told her about this and she just hoped that this is just a story, but their beasts are awake now and they wouldn't transform back into humans.

They head towards to catch the deserters when Gizmo and Greta discuss about the lifestyle of the Nomads. Suddenly, Sarge warns them to stop talking as an ambush is there somewhere nearby. After general deals with the ambusher, the guy is the Scout himself. Scout ask for mercy and request them not to kill him as he decided to stay out of that situation as soon as he realized what they were going to do. He informs them about their blockheads' who got bonded with the Northerners. Sarge got surprised as they had kept their heads for fourty years and they don't welcome the traitors of the Legion. Scout tells them about how the queen's son, Sven the Lucky, becomes the new woodland prince after she died last month and he describes him as the scrappy one. It has been done a year before. Sarge then orders him to lead them to the traitors before he gets court-martialed as he feels that they have a long journey ahead of them. The Weisswalds don't remember Northerners and the General prepares them for meeting those woodland leeches. After that, the General gets two choices which will affect them in their following fight.

They went to the Eternal Rest, only to find out that these folks have settle near the sacred place which was forbidden to enter. Scout reveals that they have turned this sacred place into an arena, and they fight for their own enjoyment. Suddenly, a young man named Xiang Tzu, challenges General to fight for his revenge as his parents were killed by the Crimson Army. However, the General has an upper hand over him thanks to the buff they have chosen earlier and defeats him. After Fangirl comes and informs that the Crimson Army general has beaten up Xiang Tzu, Ironclad tells her to stop yelling as Xander is a man as he is the one who is responsible for training him. Xiang Tzu becomes disappointed after failing to impress him and requests him to forgive him but Ironclad tells that they will work on his training later as he only just humiliated the general. The soldiers of their army want to fight them but Fangirl wonders what they will do without their army.

Sarge then gives them the warning that General will give them one chance before they will die. Ironclad mocks at him by telling that they are all free and equal, repeated by Fangirl. She boasts that their men will deal even with the Crimson Army general, but seeing them with no army Ironclad sends Richard, telling that he will fight for everyone. Gizmo advises them not to fight as they belong to the gallows, but Sarge tells him that they will win by time and will find out what Sven is doing as Richard is no match for them. While General fights with the Richard, Sarge orders Scout to check what is going on there. After General defeats Richard, Sven comes and Fangirl informs him about their guests. Sven tells Ironclad to remember that her mother sailed for the sun shores since one month and today is the Repentance Day so they won't allow any guests. Sarge tries to tell him about his mother that she didn't have any feuds against the king as she chose her friends more carefully, but Sven didn't believe his story. Sarge also tells him that his mother was the king of theirs too the Immortals won't be pleased with their doings, but he tells him that his traitors are now a part of their family and he will watch out for his family on the Repentance day, so he informs Ironclad to keep an eye on them as he will be back soon. After they go towards the arena, Gizmo tells about Sven as a daring guy to turn the Eternal Rest into an arena. Greta was upset for not protecting the Eternal Rest as she had to read a memorial prayer over the mounds. Fangirl explains about the Eternal Rest that it was built over an ancient arena and due to this, Sven holds rituals fights over there to bring back the grace of the Fire to prove them that they were wrong about them. Ironclad then tells them to see for themselves as this place is crawling with angry spirits of soldiers as the Legion turned it into a junkyard for armor, only to be corrected by Greta that these are mounds and much to her surprise, she asked them how they knew her surname. Then General goes to investigate the Eternal Rest when suddenly, a Scourge comes in between. The General quickly deals with the Scourge. It fights in permanent shadow form. Despite that, the General prevails the Scourge. After seeing this, Gizmo was surprised to see that Shadows were speaking like a human. Ironclad then tells them that the Immortals are deceiving them and asks them if they really believe them. He gets confused as to why this is all happening if the Shadows are on the Legion's side as the Immortals are either liars or fools. Even after Sarge ordering them to be silent, Ironclad doesn't get calm after seeing all this and learns that the Shadows are killing them as they had spoken the truth and soon, the whole Legion will know about it.

Depending on the path chosen by the player earlier, Sarge would get a different message from Scout. After Scout comes and reports them about the Sven's army moving towards the Fortress, he gets confused as today is the Repentance Day. Fangirl clears his confusion by saying that on this day, the they will try to bring back something which was lost by the deceased one. Greta tells them that they have to warn them as the capital is celebrating its anniversary and no one expects an attack, but Ironclad stops them and tells them to fight him. The General fights with Ironclad to clear their way towards the Fortress. Ironclad fights barehand in this fight but he has the ability to gain Stubbornness charges up to three, which increases his physical defense and also has the ability to break the General's block which deals critical damage everytime he gains or lose Stubbornness charge. He is also immune to recoil from any ranged attack. However, the General fights very cautiously and eventually, defeats him. After that, Greta remembers everything about him but she won't say his name as it will foul her soul. She accused him for betraying the Shadow Legion and humiliating his parents' memory, followed by Sarge as they pleased some woodland leeches who are off to pillage at homes as they were a part of Legion and scolds them for disgracing the Crimson Army. After that, he orders Scout to find some horses as they are departing to stop Sven from taking the Fortress.

The party rushed towards the Fortress to stop Sven's army, but they are too late as they are already here and it seems like the fight is going on inside it. Suddenly, Scout saw some Northerners surrounding a man which seems to be their King's Advisor and they rushed to help him. After General protects the advisor of the king, the advisor scolded them for not seeing the situation they are in and asks them where they have been. Sarge pleas for forgiveness and tells him with respect that it's hard for them to see the situation from outside and asked him about the Northerners. Advisor informed that they have killed their guards and scattered all over the city, although they are few in numbers, but the Immortals are safe. A Northerner with a giant hammer knocked out fifteen people and he is there in the main street and suspects to be one of their drevars. Sarge gets surprised as he thought that this day couldn't get any worse. After that, the General gets two choices which will affect them in their next fight.

They went to the main street as Sarge sees the drevar with some other Northerners and orders Scout to bring Greta to safety and find out what is going on in the city, but Greta was also willing to fight by his side. Sarge tells that this is not going to happen as he, General and Gizmo will take care of them. Depending on the buff they have chosen earlier, they would get an upper hand in this fight. After General manages to defeat the drevar, Scout comes with some more bad news that the the Northerners are hiding in the city, much to his confusion as to how they managed to get inside, as he suspects that they must have traitors among them and tells them to forget what had happened earlier. The Northerners had supporters between aristocracy and other castes. Even the Night Warriors are now with them and the prison break is also coming. Sarge suspects that it is happening because of the fire-worshipers and it would be all right if the King was here. After that, they went to the Fortress.

After they go towards the Fortress, Scout saw some Night Warriors on their way and this must be either an ambush or a rendezvous with the Northerners. They were conspiring with the prisoners as well and it is strange to see that the Night Warriors are still here, much to Sarge's doubt as they should have also gone with the King twenty years ago. Then General goes to detain the Night Warrior. They defeated the Night Warrior, but found out that he is still conscious and Gizmo was ordered by Sarge to keep a watch on him. Sarge tells Scout to inform them about the chaos as they are going the prison. They arrived at the prison when Scout asks General that Reinhard is leading the prison break. Reinhard, an Abdicator who was called a prophet by heretic was not executed by the Immortals. Scout knew all of this because he had been in the prison for fake allegations at that time. But what matter now is, if Reinhard escapes, then there will be another Abdicator Uprising. The Legion is in turmoil and finds out that this is not a coincidence. The General fights with the prisoner to prevent the prison break, but they doubt if he is Reinhard as he is wearing the Reinhard's armor. After General defeats Reinhard and the Jail Keeper, Sarge get surprised at how Chief Jailor took Reinhard's side by which Scout already told him about this thing. General and Sarge tried to catch the Reinhard, but he escaped from their grasp. Gizmo comes to inform that that Sven and his soldiers are already their in the Throne Room.

They went to the Throne room when Sarge after seeing him gets angry for seeing him inside the Throne Room. Sven assumes the Throne Room more likely to be a museum as the king hasn't visited this place for ages. Seeing the General, Sven tells them that his Sergeant can't defeat him. He tells about the old times when their tribes respected each other, and their people didn't worship shadows back then. Sven tells this to them as they were a warrior like no other and that their spirit is corrupted by shadows. After that, he challenges them to fight as the Fire Children will leave if they defeat him. General then proceeds to fight him. Sven can deal fire damage as he is the leader of Northerners and is immune to ranged attacks like Ironclad. He can also make a powerful ram towards them. Unlike other opponents, Sven cannot be thrown. Despite these combat advantages, the General manages to defeat him after a long battle. After his defeat, Scout informs them about Reinhard that he is in fact Helga who escaped from the prison and she was wearing Reinhard's armor to trick them. With this, Sven has completed his Repentance for his mother- Rescuing the true Prophet. He promised to fulfill the prophecy and will give the throne back to the true queen. When he tries to go back home, Sarge stops him as they couldn't leave this place alive.
